Shenzhen Fangyin Chinese Music Troupe

Sha Lijing is currently the Art Director of Shenzhen Fangyin Chinese Music Troupe. As a renowned guzheng concert-master, she is also member of the Chinese Musicians’ Association, Director of the Chinese Guzheng Association and Chairman of the Shenzhen Guzheng Society. She is the author of the New Guzheng Course, A Collection of Pipa-guzheng Duet , A Collection of Guzheng Ensemble and Sha Lijing Guzheng Performing Skills. Sha Lijing plucks the strings with a natural flexibility, creating inviting melody out of guzheng and blending the surrounding environment into the music. She has performed in Japan, the Netherlands, Denmark, France, Australia, South Korea, Austria, Brazil, Greece, Germany and other countries.

Gao Shan received an MA in guqin after studying with Gong Yi, a guqin master, and Ms. Dai Xiaolian. In 2008, she was awarded the bronze medal of Youth Category in the National Guqin Competition and an MA in Guqin from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. Since 2010, she has toured across the globe to perform the Peony Pavilion, a Kun opera performance against real garden background, with Tan Dun, Huang Doudou and Zhang Jun responsible for music arrangement, choreography and starring, respectively. In 2011, she visited Italy with Jin Xing, master of modern dance, to participate in the closing ceremony of Romaeuropa Festival. In 2016, she visited London and Paris and performed guqin in forms of solo and ensemble in the communication activities. Gao Shan has also participated in various concerts from home and abroad. In 2016, she got the Excellent Performing Prize in the Professional Youth A Category of Dunhuang Cup Guqin Art Performance in China. As a famous guqin tutor, Gao Shan is Director of the Guqin Professional Committee of China Nationalities Orchestra Society.

Mao Yan, a guzheng performer, was born into a musical family. Family members of her father and grandfather generation are all skilled in playing traditional folk musical instruments of various kinds. She was raised in an environment of good cultural, musical and artistic background from the very young age. She graduated from the Xinghai Conservatory of Music, majoring in guzheng performance. She won the Silver Medal in the Youth Self-choosing Unit of the First Hong Kong International Guzheng Competition. Mao Yan has also attained the certificate of senior guzheng tutor granted by the Chinese Musicians’ Association. In recent years, Mao Yan participated in the solo and ensemble performances with guzheng orchestras in the Shenzhen Concert Hall, the Shenzhen Poly Theatre and the Shenzhen Grand Theatre.

Yang Xiaoyun, a Hakka style guzheng inheritor, was born into a guzheng family. She is the daughter of Yang Shide, a prestigious inheritor of Hakka guzheng style. With the love for music since childhood, she went to study in the Central Conservatory of Music and successfully graduated. Yang Xiaoyun was awarded the 1st prize in the Adult Category of the 5th Fangling Cup National Guzheng Competition and the Silver Medal in the Self-choosing Unit of the Hong Kong International Guzheng Competition. Yang Xiaoyun is currently member of the Guangdong Guzheng Society and Executive Director of the Shenzhen Guzheng Society.
